Last Wednesday we gave our Mid-Term Presentation at TU Delft. This presentation gave an overview on the project so far and the preliminary results. After this presentation we could prepare for our trip to Wuhan.

Friday at 12:55 PM (Dutch time) we started our trip at Schiphol airport with the flight to Hong Kong. Now, waiting at Hong Kong for our flight to Wuhan, we are trying to keep you up to date of our journey in China.

More will follow as we will arrive in Wuhan in about 3 hours.

Last Monday, 2 September, we officially started with the DaRen Project! We are very excited to work the coming weeks on our 3D indoor navigation project. The first weeks of this project are all about designing and building the first prototype that we can use and test in Wuhan. Designing and building the first setup will take place in our new Geolab at the TU Delft. After these first weeks, we will fly to Wuhan at 20 September and there we will test and improve our first prototype. Hopefully, with as a final result a working 3D indoor navigation system! October 16th we will arrive again in the Netherlands. After we have returned to the Netherlands there will be a final Symposium where we will present our findings. The date for this Symposium will be announced somewhere in the coming weeks.

Further, during the summer holiday we found two additional organizations who were willing to sponsor our project: the Delft Infrastructure & Mobility Initiative (DIMI) and Kadaster. We are very happy with their sponsorship. More information about the existing and new sponsors can be found on the sponsor page.

More posts will follow the coming weeks to keep you informed!

Welcome on our website and we are glad that you are reading our first blog post! The website does not contain much information yet, but as the project progress, more information will become available.
But, let us first introduce ourselves and our project. We are seven students of the TU Delft (you can check us out at the photo on the right) and currently following the MSc Geomatics. Recently, we have started with a project named DaRen and the DaRen project is about realizing and experimenting with a 3D indoor navigation system for the  Provincial Museum of Hubei in China.  The realization and experimenting of the 3D indoor navigation system will take place in September till the end of October. During this timeframe we will go for several weeks to China to implement and test our indoor navigation system at the Provincial Museum of Hubei in China. This will happen with the help of the recently established Joint Research Centre of TU Delft and Wuhan Univeristy. Sadly, the substantial contributions made by the TU Delft and the Research Centre are not enough to cover all the expenses of the project and therefore we are in need of additional sponsors. Though, we already found one sponsor, BureauBrowserBeest, who was willing to design a logo for our project. Thanks again!
Anyway, we hope that this post made you enthousiatic about our project. If you have any questions, comments, compliments about our project or if you are interested in becoming a sponsor, you can find our contact information under the contact page.   If you want to automatically receive updates of our project, please follow us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/projectdaren
